ModelRail Scotland 2026
The club will be exhibiting its brand new OO gauge layout ‘Blackbury Junction’ at ModelRail Scotland 2026. The layout was conceived and constructed by the late and very sadly missed Archie Brown. The club is now completing the layout’s construction. It is a fictional location, close to the Scottish border. The layout is centered around a junction station beside a small town, which is served by long distance and local branchline trains. As part of its facilities the layout contains a motive power depot with a turntable and goods facilities. The time period of the layout is the 1960s when diesel power steadily displaced steam locomotion. Train operation utilises Digital Commoand Control (DCC) and many of the locomotives and diesel multiple units feature sound. Track points are operated by DC control. Signaling is work in progress.
